“Entering Their World - Living with Dementia the Easy Way” Workshop at St. Francis Commons on November 1

St. Francis Commons Assisted Living Residence in Oswego will host a workshop open to the public entitled, “Entering Their World-Living with Dementia the Easy Way” on Wednesday, November 1, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The workshop is for family members, loved ones, or caregivers who are on the journey of a Dementia diagnosis with a loved one. The one-hour program will focus on approaches that can help make the journey easier on everyone involved. Interventions, conversation tips, and “do’s and don’ts”, will be presented by Julie Chetney, Director of St Francis and Kelley Greene, Case Manager.

Learn about the strategies that have proven to be effective from professionals at the only dedicated special care residential program that served individuals with a dementia-related illness like Alzheimer’s disease in Oswego County.

“The hands-on approaches we will cover in this workshop are not theoretical; these are the strategies our staff have learned and adopted through actual day-to-day care of individuals with memory deficits and can help anyone who likewise provides some level of support for a family member, friend or neighbor,” said Kelly Greene, Case Manager.

“We know how difficult it can be for families who are responsible for caring for a loved one who is experiencing the onset of memory deficits,” said St. Francis Commons Director Julie Chetney. “We can share many of the practices we have learned to be effective learned and developed through years of experience.”

Staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the care and services available at St. Francis Commons.

No reservations are necessary to attend the workshop. For more information, contact St. Francis Commons at 315-326-0870. Email to info@stfranciscommons.com
